General Characteristics:
The Jack Russell terrier is a happy little hunter. Not recommended for a home with children or other pets, this energetic dog needs lots of exercise and thrives on companionship. Their inherent desire to hunt combined with unmatchable energy levels makes training a must for the Jack Russell. They are strong-willed and vocal. However, their alert nature makes them good watchdogs. They are a moderate to high shedding breed.
