Common Causes:
Caused due to bacteria - E. coli, that moves up the urethra and occasionally into the bladder when your dog’s health is compromised. Health conditions that can cause buildup of bacteria in the urinary tract include prostate disease, kidney stones, cancer of the bladder, bladder stones, and bladder tumors, abnormalities of the spinal cord, stress, diabetes, incontinence and congenital problems.
Natural Remedies:
We recommend the introduction of probiotics, such as yoghurt, in their meals. You can also add 1 - 2 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar to their meals / water to balance their pH levels. Cranberry and Blueberry can also greatly help with detoxifying and preventing further reoccurrence of the infection. It is also advisable to encourage your pet to consume more water in a bid to rid the body of the prevalent infection. For this reason, you can invest in a water fountain that entices your pet to drink more often.
